I've got a new job!

Hey guys, just a short blog post to update you all on the fact that I’ve got a job!! 😊 This is my first proper job post graduation!

I’m pleased to say I’ve got a full time role working as an Associate Health Coach at a weight management company. They are a habit change programme designed to help people improve their lifestyle, make sustainable habits, and lose weight. The programme is also backed by the NHS and people can be referred from their GP to join.

As you know from my previous blog posts, I’m not a fan of fad diets and I’m against all the false information out there about weight loss. This programme only uses evidence based techniques to support people with their weight loss and they’re always searching for the latest science. I’m happy to have a found a company with similar beliefs to me and somewhere I can grow as a dietitian within the weight management sector. They don’t only focus on diet, but on exercise, sleep, stress, and mindset. Having a holistic lifestyle approach can help people make habits for life.

It’s different to the traditional clinical role of a dietitian but another reason I liked the company is that they only hire registered dietitians and nutritionists to support people. This means they’ll be getting reliable and honest advice from people with qualifications. I’ll be coaching groups of people digitally over their app which is new for me, but I’m excited at the utilisation of technology in healthcare!

I’ve only recently started in this role but once I get more settled in I’ll do a blog post on a day in the life, so people have a better idea of what dietitians do outside of the hospital!

Hope you enjoyed this blog post; my next post will be coming 1st September.

Bye for now! 👋
